Tallow's dominant fatty acids — oleic, palmitic and stearic — are the same ones that structure your own skin barrier, and oleic acid is also the main fat in sebum. That overlap is why it absorbs readily instead of sitting on the surface. Note that in this set the tallow is in the Myrrhaculous Face Cream; the Cleansing Oil and Toner are plant-based and contain no tallow.

Oil cleansing uses oil to dissolve sebum, makeup and impurities, on the principle that like dissolves like. Apply the Cleansing Oil to dry skin, massage gently, emulsify with warm water and rinse. Follow with the Toner, then finish with the Myrrhaculous Face Cream.

All products in this kit are free of synthetic fragrances and harsh detergents. The Cleansing Oil for Dry Skin uses gentle plant oils, and the Face Cream contains no synthetic emulsifiers or preservatives. It does contain lavender and myrrh essential oils, so patch test first if you react easily to botanicals.
