Tallow is unusually compatible with human skin because its dominant fatty acids — oleic, palmitic and stearic — are the same ones that structure your own skin barrier, and oleic acid is also the main fat in sebum. That is why it absorbs rather than sitting on the surface. We rest the case on the fatty acids, which are measured, rather than on a vitamin list: USDA reference data for beef tallow shows only modest vitamin E and D, with vitamin A and K not detected.
Myrrh resin has been used in skincare preparations for thousands of years. In this cream it contributes to the scent and to the rich, comforting feel of the formula on dry skin. It is included as a cosmetic ingredient.
There is no published comedogenic rating for beef tallow — the 0 to 5 scale quoted across skincare sites came from research applying isolated ingredients to rabbit ears, and tallow was not among the substances tested. In practice, tolerance varies. This formula also includes jojoba oil, which is close in structure to skin's own sebum. If your skin congests easily, patch test along the jaw and give it two to four weeks.

It contains no synthetic emulsifiers, fragrances or preservatives, which are the most common triggers in conventional creams. It does contain lavender and myrrh essential oils, so if you react easily to botanicals, patch test first — or choose Unmyrrhaculous, which leaves out the myrrh.
