Tallow has been used for centuries as an all-natural moisturizer and skin conditioner. It's also rich in vitamins A and D and contains essential fatty acids that help protect your skin from environmental damage and irritation.

But did you know that tallow is also great for hair? The same properties that make it so good for your skin are also great for your hair: vitamins A and D help strengthen hair follicles and prevent breakage; essential fatty acids keep your scalp healthy; and its natural moisturizing properties keep your scalp hydrated so it doesn't dry out or become too oily.

The pH of our Shampoo Bar hovers around 4.4-5, providing a much more gentle cleanse than many of the other shampoo bars available on the market. This is because most of the "other guys" are formulated more like a soap bar than a shampoo bar.

Since the pH of your skin is around 9-10 (ie, much more alkaline) and the pH of your scalp is around 4-5 (a bit more acidic), this means that washing your hair with a shampoo bar that's formulated like a soap will massively disrupt the pH of your scalp, and will likely cause your hair to become dry and brittle.
