It seems like everyone you talk to swears by one brand over another and there is always “an essential oil for that!” In this 2-part series, I will break down the essentials you need to know about the essentials oils we use in our FATCO products! So, put a few drops of lavender in that diffuser, grab a comfy seat and enjoy!

MYRRH ESSENTIAL OIL:
About the plant:
Myrrh essential oil comes from the Commiphora Myrrha tree, found in Africa and Arabia. It is derived from the sap that the tree produces. The resin is steam distilled to produce this Myrrhaculous essential oil!
Benefits for Skin:
If we had to guess, we would bet that the fountain of youth if full of Myrrh essential oil! Myrrh helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines when you use it regularly. It helps keep your skin looking young and vibrant! You will get the biggest benefit from Myrrh when you use it daily so make sure that your Myrrhaculous Face Cream is always close by!

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL:
About the plant:
Lavender essential oil comes from the…you guessed it….lavender plant! If you have ever driven from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas and rolled down your windows when passing the lavender fields, you know this distinct purple shrub smells divine! Lavender essential oil is extracted from the plant’s flowers and then separated out via steam distillation.
Benefit for Skin:
Lavender essential oil helps you skin stay calm. It can soothe irritated skin and even help with sunburns! Use any of our lavender-infused products can help soothe sunburns, bug bites and even small scrapes.

CLARY SAGE ESSENTIAL OIL:
About the plant:
Clary Sage essential oil requires patience! The Clary Sage plant doesn’t produce flowers until it’s second year of life. Clary Sage essential oil is extracted from these flowers that are either white or violet in color.
Benefit for Skin:
Clary Sage contains Linalyl Acetate which is the magical ester that helps to reduce inflammation. It also helps your skin regulate it’s natural oil production balancing out both dry and oily skin.What FATCO Products is this used in?

YLANG YLANG ESSENTIAL OIL:
About the plant:
Ylang Ylang, or Canaga odorta, has vibrant green leaves to compliment the yellow-green flowers that bloom from the plant. Ylang Ylang essential oil is extracted from these beautiful flowers.
Benefit for Skin:
It is no coincidence that Ylang Ylang essential oil comes from a very vibrant plant as it provides a boost of energy to you and your skin! When applied topically, it gives your skin cells a little boost to help perk your skin right up!

Rosemary was considered sacred in many ancient cultures and even used for medicinal purposes.

LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL:
About the plant:
Cymbopogon flexuosus, more commonly known as lemongrass (thank goodness, because we have no idea how to pronounce the scientific name!), is native to India. Lemongrass essential oil is produced by steam-distilling the leaves of the lemongrass plant.
Benefit for Skin:
Lemongrass essential oil helps to purify and tone your skin. A little lemongrass essential oil can help leave you skin tone looking nice and even while helping to purify your skin from toxins.
