The FATCO Guide

Fat Stick

A pocket-sized tallow balm stick for lips, cuticles, and anywhere your skin runs dry — in four scents and one clean unscented for the whole family.

The Basics

Fat Stick is a solid tallow balm in stick form. The base is grass-fed beef tallow — the same biocompatible fat that built every other FATCO formula — combined with beeswax for structure, and a blend of nourishing plant oils and butters. No petrolatum, no synthetic fragrance, no mystery emollients. Just ingredients you can read and recognize.

Why It Works

Tallow your skin already speaks.

Biocompatible

Tallow's fatty acid profile is nearly identical to human skin lipids. Your lips absorb it as a building block, not a coating — which is why it doesn't need to be reapplied every hour like petroleum-based balms.

Nutrient-dense

Grass-fed tallow carries fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K that support cell turnover and barrier repair. Every application delivers what the skin uses to heal itself.

Clean formula

No petrolatum, no mineral oil, no synthetic fragrance, no artificial preservatives. Beeswax gives the stick its structure; tallow and plant oils do the skin work. The ingredient list is short enough to read at a glance.

Where to Use It

More than a lip balm.

Lips

Dry or chapped lips

The obvious use — but with tallow instead of petrolatum, it actually repairs the lip barrier rather than just coating it. You'll reapply less.

Hands

Cuticles & knuckles

The stick format makes it easy to hit cuticle lines and dry knuckle skin precisely. Tallow absorbs quickly enough that it won't stay tacky.

On-the-go

Dry patches, anywhere

Elbows, nose, heels, brow bone after waxing — Fat Stick is a pocket-sized first responder for any spot that suddenly needs moisture.

On Sourcing

Grass-fed matters more than you think.

Commodity tallow is nearly inert on skin — it's the fat from grain-fed animals processed for industrial use. Grass-fed, pasture-raised tallow is something different: higher in conjugated linoleic acid, fat-soluble vitamins, and the same fatty acids your skin lipids are built from. That's the only kind in Fat Stick. We know the ranchers it comes from.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

  • What is Fat Stick made of?

Beeswax, sweet almond oil, grass-fed tallow, cocoa butter, shea butter, organic coconut oil, organic rosehip seed oil, olive oil, and kukui oil — plus essential oils in the scented versions. No petrolatum, no synthetic fragrance, no artificial preservatives.

  • Does Fat Stick smell like beef?

No. Properly rendered tallow is odorless. The scented Fat Sticks smell only like their essential oil blend. Baby Fat Stick is completely unscented.

  • Is Fat Stick safe for babies?

Baby Fat Stick (Unscented) was formulated specifically with infants and sensitive skin in mind. It contains zero essential oils — just the tallow and plant oil base. It's the version we'd reach for on a baby's chapped cheeks, nose, or diaper area.

  • How is Fat Stick different from regular lip balm?

Most lip balms use petrolatum or synthetic wax to coat the lip surface, creating the sensation of moisture without delivering it. Tallow absorbs into the lip tissue the same way skin absorbs its own sebum — because the fatty acid profiles are nearly identical. The result is actual repair, not just coating.

  • Can I use Fat Stick on my face?

Yes. It works well on dry patches, brow bone after waxing, around the nose in winter, or any localized dry spot. If you want broader facial coverage, FATCO Tallow Balm is designed for that.

  • What size is Fat Stick?

All Fat Sticks are 0.5 oz — pocket and purse sized. Designed to go everywhere a chapstick would, with a format that's easy to use on lips, cuticles, and small dry patches.

  • Which flavor should I try first?

If you want something universally liked: Lemon + Honey or Orange + Vanilla. For warmth: Vanilla + Coffee. For classic and clean: Lavender + Peppermint. For sensitive skin or a baby at home: Baby Fat Stick (Unscented).
